    Thanks for confirming that about the motors. I also had it in mind that the prop selection for reversing capability was an important consideration.

    You have a very interesting boat there, and I think we will see more like it in the future.

    Your comment about speed with the new 60 Suzuki, made me recall a discussion I had with my father many years ago about speed of displacement hulls and the fact that the speed will get to a certain point and then, the amount of extra horsepower required to make it go faster, gets exponentially more. Called the hull speed. You probably already know this ......

    I couldn't remember the exact equation but remembered that it included the square root of the waterline length of the hull, in feet.

    Anyway, Wikipedia being what it is, I found the equation and here it is:

    hull speed in knots = 1.34 x (sq root of the waterline length of the hull in feet)

    So it will be interesting to see if 8 knots is your hull speed or if the extra horsepower gets you a significant gain!
