  • Suzuki BF250 Code 7-3 Mystery?

New BF250. A 7-3 code would display w/ "Check Throttle control". Engine would drop into "Protection Mode" run rough at min. RPM. Will shift but limit RPM. Shutting power off a few times would clear code.
Returned to dealer- checked and said unusual code per Suzuki techs.
Mechanic said they adjusted wiring, could not
    get code to return.
Now at 84hrs. same code has returned with same MSG many times.
2nd. Mechanic had boat a week. "Unusual Code" same thing 1st.
mech. said. Suzuki contacted again and assisted with troubleshoot.
Took for trial and code returns in 10 min.
*Note: Motor is under warranty and both Mechs. were Suzuki authorized.
Motor will run great but when I drop to Idle is when code pops up.
Taking back to Mechanic but any ideas, I've lost a month on this.

I have posted very similar question but I am getting code 8-3, makes me wonder if related. I will follow this thread to see if anyone answers.

Scharebear, I saw your post as well and thought the same thing.
The mechanic will try and have Suzuki send a new shift harness assembly.
I hope that works, loosing a lot of water time.

        Hello,
i have the same error 7-3 3-2 check throttle system on my df250ap with rough idle.
Have you found a possible solution for this?

        Thanks!

My problem was the shift mechanism at the motor was sticking. It had no grease whatsoever and somehow some saltwater got in there causing some corrosion. Mechanic cleaned it, greased it and I check it periodically.
