power to engine monitor

2000 dt225 with ignition key on no buzzer and no lights on monitor gauge. When key turned to start the engine fires right up and runs as long as key is held in start position, when returned to run position engine immediately dies.

Well, sure sounds like a bad switch or just as likely a bad connection at the "run" terminal on the switch, or defective wire that comes off the run terminal. Check that wire the entire length between the switch and the motor if necessary. You apparently have good power to the switch, just not past the run terminal.

turned out to be a bad ignition switch, no power out the on circuit.
