  • Torque tab bolt material?

I broke my torque tab off and am getting around to replacing it. I purchased a new tab and bolt, but the old bolt was broke off inside the lower unit so I had to drill and tap it out. Re-threaded it to a common 3/8"-16. I notice the OEM bolt is sort of a dull grey color and not magnetized. Anyone know what it is made of? Or should I grab a grade 316 stainless bolt, slather blue thread-locker and call it a day? 2007 DF175

Parts breakdown shows the bolt SIZE to be 8x22. Didn`t mention material but I would believe SS.

SS for sure, now that you've gone standard thread you'll be fine, just remember 5yrs from now it isn't metric
