1987 DT150 Cuts out at 3K

Just completed a total rebuild of a 1970 Mako19, the motor that came with it is a 1987 Suzuki DT150, I had it completly serviced prior to mounting her on my boat..starts up and idels fine..but when i push it above 3K it acts like its choking out, i am using Morse top mount controls with a suzuki key start panel..any suggestions are greatly appreciated. do you have any alarms sounds like rev limiter is working

Did you figure out the problem

Just wondering if you were able to fix this engine. I have a 1987 DT150 that I am going to have to go through and it would be good to know of this specific symptom in advance... assuming I can find the parts..
