  • SMIS Gauges

Hi all, I just bought a 2018 DF175 with the new square C10 multi gauge. I also bought an older round multi gauge on Ebay for the fly bridge but the connector is different. Can I still hook it up to the network? Thanks

2018 engine has NMEA2000 protocol network. If the round gauge is compatibel, it will work: I just plugged in a GPS NMEA2000 module myself, and it worked right away.
Otherwise there are adapter solutions to connect with other networks like NMEA 0183 and SeaTalk

Most likely the round SMIS gauge you bought is an early model that has the blue Lowrance connector.

You might be lucky and still be able to buy a converter cable somewhere - this is a link to the part you need, search on the part number and you might be able to find one.

The next issue is that once you have the adapter cable, you will need to update the SMIS software to a version that is compatible with your 2018 model year engine. If you do not update, it will cause nasty problems with your network, so do not even contemplate running it without updating.

Here is a link to a page where you can find the correct software version for the SMIS gauge, you can download and save it to a USB and then upload it to the SMIS via the C-10 over the network.

Thanks guys. I cut the connector off of the round gauge and I'm going to power it from my dash and splice into the communication wires on the network. Once I load the new software, I hope it works. Thanks again.
