  • Flushing with hose

I have a 2013 90 DFA with 20 hours. I understood that when using the the hose flush fitting that you needed to idle the engine . I have done this three times for about 10 minutes each time.

Could I have damaged things...the impeller maybe.

    Thanks for the help.

Yes, you may well have damaged the water pump impeller. Possibly melted the tips and you should definitely check it before running the engine again

Your owners manual tells you how to flush - and when using the flushing port, it says NEVER to run the engine.

You can use muffs or put the engine in a drum of water and run it to flush. If you want to use muffs, my mechanic recommends the small round old style ones.
