Cleaning Mineral Deposits Off SS Prop

My pontoon boat is on a lift but the prop hangs mostly in the lake water. It has accumulated a layer of mineral deposit/scale on the prop. I have scraped most of it off and lightly sanded to smooth the remaining rough spots but there is still some scale left.

Is there a solvent or scale/scum desolver that might finish the job without me sanding it all off?

You could try rust and stain remover spray. Several brands of this available. Just wash it off thoroighly after use.

We use this stuff to remove the white mineral deposists from the lower leg of the outboards that accumulate due to heat.
