I'm swapping an evinrude 2 stroke with an 03, DF115. Motor didn't come with a remote wiring harness and I'm not sure what I need to by. I'm thinking I can use the evinrude top mount shift/throttle. Pretty sure I need a tach and ignition switch. Ay advice on what to get and where is appreciated.

a tach is always important
a warning buzzer which tells you if there is an alarm
if you didn't have an ignition switch.. yes
I would expect your remote control may connect up with the linkage connections on the engine..
Where are you located.. there may be someone on the forum that can point you in the direction of a good dealer
and.. order yourself a full service manual..

I'm in eastern Va. Near Fredericksburg. Took at look at the existing ignition switch. Doubt if the connectors are interchangeable. Looks like motorcycle snap plugs on the oem envinrude system. Definitely appreciate the advice and totally agree that I want the alarm. As well as the rest of the bells & whistles.Comment
