  • aluminum flacks in engine oil

I have a Johnson four stroke/Suzuki DF 225 that has aluminum flacks in the engine oil and was stuck in the pleats of the oil filter it has just over 400 hr on it and it runs nice no noise compression is perfect any ideas on what is going on ?
    thanks

probably either a spun rod bearing or spun main bearing. Metal in the oil usually indicates bearing failure.

do they have cam bearings or do the cams just ride in the heads ?

I would have a hard time believing that it was a rod or main bearing it is as quiet as a church mouse

If the aluminum is in chunks and slightly yellowed kinda like corn flakes and It was in the oil and in the filter then there is major bearing failure somewhere in the motor and the motor must come apart to see what is going on. Aluminum flakes in the oil is never something minor, that would always indicate a serious problem.
