Change oil massage. Suzuki s cross x4

Today i got a messege on the screen when I started the car ( change motor oil). I already booked an appointment for maintance in mid of january as this is the due for my car as mentioned in the maintance book. My car is 11 month old.

My car:
Suzuki s cross x4 2018

I drove 6500 km only.

What does this msg mean? Is it harmful to drive the car until mid of january without changing oil?

How is oil life calculated? By sensor or by time?

It is calculated by Many sensors and Time.. Driving Styles, Temps, Driving Times (short or long), Towing, Idle or at speed.

Yes it is important to change on time!

Yes it is an Suzuki Outboard Site. But I see this Oil Life Monitor System coming to Outboards in the Future.
