  • What size/pitch prop do I need?

    I have a Nautic Star 210DC, 21ft. 8'6" beam, 2650lbs. dry.

I currently have a Suzuki 3-14x18P SS prop and am getting about 5600-5700 RPM with 2 people at WOT. I'm getting about 32mph on the speedo.

I understand I can have the existing prop repitched?

I'm thinking I need to have it changed to a 16P?

What do the Zuki Gods say?

You neglected to say what motor we're discussing. The pitch change would probably be about right. But it would be good to know your motor, anyway.

      OOPS. Motor is a '05 DF140 4 cycle.

Well, like I said, 16 sounds like a good starting point. Should get you pretty close to 6000 @ WOT. Haven't ever had a prop repitched, so I can't comment on that.

Be real careful who does the prop. I had my prop done a few years back. I had a bad vibration after they did it. Make sure the prop guy has a up to date work shop. You can keep your prop for a back up and get a new one. Going down one size on the pitch should give you 200 rpm. About 2 mph more.
