  • Joining NMEA backbones

I am adding some more items to my NMEA network but do not have the room to add on the new backbone at the end of the existing one so if I fit it next to the existing back bone how can I join the 2 together is there a cable with the 2 different fittings at either end that will allow this?

A standard NMEA2000 drop cable is all that is required. They are M one end and F the other.

Take a terminating resistor off one end of the network and plug the cable in where it was. Then add the new T’s on the other end of the cable and terminate the last T with that terminating resistor. Done.
