  • Baystar steering install

Looking at the installation process for a Baystar steering unit. 08 Df115 requires a spacer kit for starters. Then it says the HC4645 cylinder can be used instead of the HC4658 but has to be flipped. Why not just go with the recommended cylinder instead of flipping? Is it a $$ issue?

No big deal I put one on my df140hp. Took me longer to get the old rusted bolt off then to do the install. Helm may not be same size as your old helm. I had to make up an aluminum plate to cover the old helm hole which was larger then the baystar. Best money I ever put in my boat getting rid of cable steering. I think I paid $550 on ebay

I had a mercury motor on mine, before the new 2016 DF140A Suzuki. I did not have to flip the bracket or use the spacer kit.

Suppose I'll order the extras and return if I don't need. Thanks
