  • Outboard starved for fuel at high rpms

Hi--fished boat pretty regularly over winter--recently was out for 4-6 hrs and started to head in--motor began bogging down at 20 mph. Got fresh fuel and can of sea foam, but still no change--ok at low speeds, but bogs down at high. Changed out fuel filter, still no difference. Not a prop issue, tried two different props, still exact same behavior. Checked fuel pickup in tank, mesh screen is completely clean. When bogs down, have shut motor off, pumped primer bulb, and can hear gas moving into outboard, so I know its getting fuel. Grateful for any ideas/suggestions (other than taking it in, which I am about to do--is a 2016 Suzuki DF 30).

    Thanks!

Was the primer bulb soft or partially collapsed?
Sounds very much like a tank venting problem.

Bulb was not completely soft but could squeeze a couple times--should always be hard when running? Tank was vented--will check vent for crap. Thanks for the reply!
