  • Check Engine Light - 2006 DF140

CEL came on a while back. Steady, no unusual beeps or flashes when starting or under way, i.e. no diagnostic codes. Changed oil, reset reminder using kill switch routine (3 pulls, long beep). CEL remains on.

It was running fine during several outings until I was putting it on the trailer the other day and it sputtered and died. Restarted/died a couple of times until I restarted while giving it a little gas (in neutral). Got it on the trailer and into my driveway. Removed the batteries, cleaned, serviced and charged them. Reinstalled the batteries and...no CEL. Great! Next morning, after just sitting in my driveway on the charger overnight, the CEL is back on steady. Didn't run it or anything, just sitting there.

SDS shows no codes, 358 hours. Only possible issue shown is Over Revolution 2 times. Checked the ferrous plug, looks fine. White wire is connected to a power distribution block that is connected directly to the positive terminal of the starting battery.

    I'm stumped. Any thoughts?
