  • 140 4 stroke issues

    Hello Folks,
Any idea why my 140 four stroke runs well on the top end. Then as I take it down nearer to idle it runs and then as soon as I try to give it more throttle it kills. It is then hard to start so I'll have to move the warm up lever forward and then she will crank up after a minute or so of trying most times.

    Thanks,
    CLD

Does it die if you pull the throttle back too fast? Rough idle? It may be the IAC valve. Common issue. Not cheap brand new. I would check ebay.

X2 on the IAC valve. There's test specs on it in the factory service or a SELOC manual. You can get a new one from an auto parts store also, just take the old one in with you. New one from Suzuki is a bit pricey.
