I just replaced the impeller, and in doing so, I had to disconnect the clutch rod. Is it possible that in reconnecting the clutch rod, I installed it in a different position and the neutral safety switch thinks its almost in neutral and is limiting my rpm's?? It doesn't happen all the time... it Intermittently happens. The prop seems to engage fine in forward and reverse, but may be its so close to neutral, its trips the neutral switch, limiting my rpm's. Is the only adjustment for the neutral safety switch thinking its in neutral on the clutch rod? It seems this problem arose after changing the impeller..

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

Replying so your help question doesn't roll off the front page
Not familiar with this engine so I ask if you did this by the numbers using the service manual?
With a volt meter you should be able to check if the switch is activating correctly or not
