pilot water hole

My DF140A manual says to "Direct the pilot water hole to the position you intend". I don't know what that means, what is the "intended" position?

This basically means that the small fitting for the pilot (or pee hole) can be rotated to suit one's personal preference

Put it where you want it. I have mine pointed perpendicular to the motor toward the right; it easier for me to see the stream there. I've seen some pointing straight up.

There is actually a factory line up mark on it and the insert, it appears to make it point to the right and down at a 45 degree angle.
