How to turn off speed sensor within SMG4 guage?

I am trying to get my SMG4 gauge to display speed over land info from my Lowrance HDS unit… it displays the long/Lat info, so the NMEA network is working… HDS unit has all the engine info… all the prior posts say to turn off the engine sensor, but the manual does not show the steps to do that?

also, my gauge does not display the right date/time… if I change that, does this then mess with the engine data that is stored ?

GPS speed:
You need to go into the initial settings menu.
MENU/initial setting/sensor setting/water speed - turn to OFF.

TIME
MENU/Initial setting/Time set the time settings there. When the unit is connected to a GPS that has satellite lock time will be correct.
