  • SMG4: fuel level bar grapgh shows 'full' all the time...

Strange this: I've burnt about half the tank, but fuel level bar graph on my SMG4 display still shows maximum level.
    Fuel used info seems correct.
what could be the problem ??
    Worked fine before.

    THANKS,
    V.

The bar graph represents tank level from the tank sender. Nothing to do with the data from the engine, which is why the fuel used figure is still correct.

Staying on full might indicate a problem with the tank sender unit (float stuck perhaps) or the wiring from tank sender to the gauge harness.

Moonlighter: do you perhaps know what the compliant Ohm-range is for the SMG4 (European/American?). Sender seems to be a KUS model.

If it worked fine earlier, and now doesnt work, why would the problem suddenly be anything to do with the tank sender’s ohm range?

In those circumstances, logic says that the problem is either tank sender or wiring related. Unless you changed something in the gauge for fuel tank calibration?
