  • DF90 leaking at flush port

Model 2001 DF90 is leaking at flush port. I have tried two different plugs- original to the year and a different part for a 2018 version since the oil pan was replaced that year. What's going on here?

Found the problem. A fitting had popped off a nipple on the block, pumping water into the enclosed engine compartment The water was actually leaking around the flush port. Fix was removing cover and stbd. side chap to expose the fitting. Spring clip hose clamp was possibly not installed inside of the flare on the end of the nipple. Flush water possibly too high of pressure to pop it off. Cheap fix. Other mechanics tell me this happens a lot. First time for me but I usually flush with the ear muffs on land. Also, do not run the motor when flushing through the port on land because the water does not flow to the impellor so possible damage can occur. Something else not in the owner's manual.
