  • DF250SS very hard to get out of gear when running

Hello all, new Suzuki owner here.

I just rigged a one year old, 40 hour 250ss on my bay boat. Did the rigging myself and everything seemed just fine. That is until I ran the motor and tried to get it out of gear. Very, very hard to shift into neutral from forward or reverse when the motor is running. Feels like I’m going to rip the shifter from the console. If the motor is off, the shift is smooth as silk. I read about a high idle causing this but I’m right at 650 in forward idle. Any ideas from the forum?

    Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

Update: While trouble shooting in the driveway with motor running on the muffs the problem is not there. So basically only happens when the prop is under a little load.

    Any ideas anyone?
