2008 Suzuki df50

Hi
I've a problem with my df 50 .
It starts first time every time , ticks over , runs ok until I accelerate.
It can't get past 4000 revs , it sounds ok but I've lost 10 - 12 knots off
My top speed and it'll not get up on plane.
No alarms shown.
Any ideas

Hi Pat, Most times you will find that fuel is the culprit. Whether is bad,dirty or old fuel, try using good Quailty fuel in a spare tank and see if there is any difference

The impeller was recently replaced and the problem seems to have started
After this.
Also it's using way too much fuel than is normal
All the fuel is fresh and the filter is new.

Have you checked the vent for the fuel tank!
If not breathing well you get a vacuum in the delivery system and the engine starves
Check the condition of the fuel bulb
The other thing to check is just the opposite
If one of the connections is leaking air the engine, again, will not get proper fuel
Watch the inline fuel filter when tunning and check for presence of air bubbles
Lastly your fuel line is old enough to have broken down internally
Try an external tank with new gas and gas line to see if condition goes away
You might try the last idea first. If that is successful then you would check the other points to see exactly what failed

I changed over to a new fuel line and tank, still the same.
New fuel always used .
As I said it was ok until I changed the impeller.
Could it be the adjustment on the shift rod not done properly.
