  • Throttle lever "loses" its Neutral Position

    Good morning all-

Picture shows the throttle lever used for my 2007 DF150.

When I turn engine OFF (in neutral) and then go to start it up, it frequently will not crank until I move throttle lever back (slightly) and then into neutral again. Not sure if this is a cable issue or neutral switch issue.

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

My DF25A does the same thing. I believe it started when I removed the engine from the transom of my small boat to replace the wood on the transom, then re-attached it. This required me to disconnect the throttle & shift cables. I've always assumed it's a simple issue with the shift cable adjustment at the engine. Been meaning to fix it for a couple years now, but it's such a small problem that I haven't got around to it. ;^(
