Does the oil filter cap need a sealing gasket material installed after changing the oil filter on a 9.9BEFI or does the oil filter cap O ring suffice to prevent oil leaks? Thanks for any input.
Inside the oil filler cap there is a large O ring. That is sufficient. On the inside of the filter there is a small O ring. Between the filter and the filler cap should be a spring that pushes the filter inside the housing.
