  • 2007 DF300 Check Engine 3-3 Code

Hey guys. Looking for a little advice. 4 years ago the neutral safety switch on the engine went bad and I by passed it. Earlier this year the potentiometer in the binnacle went bad and the engine wouldn't start. I had a shop replace it. That shop had an old engine interface cable and got my SMIS gauges working again (the gauges haven't worked for several years). When I got the boat back, the engine would start, but the gauges flashed a "Check Engine 3-3" code. I called the shop and they said it was from the neutral safety switch on the engine that went bad (the one I by passed). I replaced that switch, but still get the Check Engine 3-3 code. I took apart the shift linkage to see if there was anything binding up or if the bushings needed to be replaced, but all that looked good, so I'm now thinking there might be an issue with my Shift Position Sensor. I don't have the Suzuki test plugs/harness to check the voltage output of the Shift Position Sensor and I really don't want to skin the insulation off the wires to read the voltage. Does anyone know a different way to test the Shift Position Sensor or have a better idea why my engine is throwing the 3-3 code?

    Thanks!
