  • Suzuki 4-2 Error and a compounding problem around the shift linkage

Have a 4-2 Error code and Ive delt with this before.. tried to isolate the problem and now I have two motors that dont work for different reasons

Basically the 4-2 can be a few different things and occurs when the engine expects to crank and does not.

First time around on my PORT motor and it was my Neutral Safety Switch, easy fix.

This time it happened on my STBD motor and I figured I would swap the NSSs just to make sure that was the problem (turns out it wasnt, another story there).. sooo when I swapped out the NSS. I removed the shift dog bone connector on each motor, flipped the NSS and when I went to reinstall the motor that DOESNT have the issue.. the front connector to the dog bone is rotated all the way forward, as if its in gear... and I have no idea how it move, its frozen there and I cannot connect it even if I manually move the other side to the forward position. Any idea how to shift it back? I can crank the motor fine.
