2007 DF 300 Lower Unit Drive Shaft Seal Replacement

I had a leaking drive shaft seal and installed a new Drive Shaft Bearing Housing with the seals already installed. Once torqued down to 73 ft/lb, the drive shaft is noticeably harder to turn than it ever was before.

Is that normal?
