2021 Df60a. I was idling in gear and it died. Nothing happened when I tried turning key. Started trolling motoring home, then the ignition buzzer turned on because key was left in "on" position. Started and idled it towards home. It shut off on me a few more times. Sometimes taking a minute or 2 for buzzer to come back on. I did make it home. Next day cant even get the ignition buzzer anymore. With key turned to on position I get light on the tach, but it does not temporarily move to note engine hours as it should). Prop spins both ways so lower unit is in neutral. I've tried bypassing the cutoff switch, and ignition key (cut & connected white & gray wires). Nothing gives me the buzzer or tach movement. Buzzer has been tested and works. 12.5 volts at main engine lugs.
What could be wrong? Would a bad neutral safety switch cause this?
It would help if I can eliminate some possibilities.
1. Will the buzzer still sound for key "on" even if engine is in gear?
2. Will the buzzer still sound for key "on" even if safety switch is diconnected?
