2011 suzuki df80 engine hour recording

I Have a new DF80 Suzuki when I turn on the Ignition I don't see the tach
move Indicating # of hrs on engine .My Hourmeter on dash says Ihave 17hrs.
Hopefully at 20hrs the oil light will flash and beeps will sound indicating I hit
the 20hr Mark.Any idea you may have why the tach is not showing # hours.

check you owners manual, i think it will indicate nr of hours starting from 50 hrs
0-50 hrs: 0
50 hrs: 500 rpm
60 hrs: 600 rpm
100 hrs:1000 rpm
etc.
