  • DF140 will not restart when warm

I have a 2002 DF140 that runs really well. When it is cold it starts right up and runs fine. You can run for hours at trolling speeds with no issues until you stop. After running and you shut it off for a while it will not start. It is like the battery is disconnected, the trim does not work and the motor will not turn over. If you pull the cover and pull out the ecm it will all of sudden start right up and work fine. I have checked for bad wires but could this be a relay?

    Thanks

When you turn the key on battery voltage travels through the power relay coil to earth in the ECM, your power trim gets supply before the power relay, check the thirty and sixty amp fuses pull them out and have a good look at them, because the trim gets supply before the power relay I think more like your main ignition feed wire where it branches off it is white, and when you move the ECM it makes contact. The white wire also feeds the power relay.
