O ring in fuel filter cup

I recently bought a 2008 DF225 and was just looking around the motor and noticed what looks like a red/orange "o ring" near the bottom of the fuel filter cup. I know nothing about motors and am new to this one so was wondering what this could be. Is this supposed to be there or is it supposed to be somewhere else and fell inside there? I can't find any info on this but did see a picture where it looked like the same thing so maybe it is normal.

Any expertise would be appreciated.

df225, 2008, oring in filter cup

The parts page shows a small diameter oring at the top of the filter, and a larger diameter o ring at the top of the filter cup. Am not sure which one you see, but it shouldn't be in the bottom of the filter cup.
