    Hello all,

    I run a 26' twin vee with df 150s and 14 3/4x23 prop

I am repowering with df 175s. A few people are telling me to swing a bigger prop 15 1/2-16.. Anyone have any thoughts? My gut is telling me to go with a 16x20. I would like to achieve best top end.

    Thx

    Drifter,
For top end, go with a higher pitch. A larger prop will give you more bite yet cause more drag. If it were me, I'd stick with factory specified size prob but increase pitch and start there. I think factory prop on DF175 is 15x21 so I'd try 15x23.

Think I'd put it in the hands of the dealer re-powering your boat, then if prop is wrong you can have them correct it. Play dumb about what the best one is, put on their backs, they're getting enough to cover it, and then some i'm sure.

      Good luck.
