I have a 1984 Suzuki 8hp two stroke that was never used. Still in the crate. I broke it in properly. Most of the lakes I visit are above 7000 ft. Motor ran fine at low speeds but would only run at full throttle for about 5 minutes than would stop running. At 3000ft it ran fine. I'm pretty sure it's a jetting problem. Currently has 50 and 56 jets. Questions are:
1. There are two jets. One in the side of the carburetor and the second in the base under the float bowl. Which is the high speed jet?
2. Are jets still available?
3. If so what size high and low speed jets should I use for altitudes at 7000ft ?
The high speed jet is in the float bowl.
About size of jet, you should ask a dealer in that area, he would be more knowledgeable on upgrading your jet. They probably have to deal with that often.
