  • 6 hp suzuki

have a 1986 Suzuki 6 hp. Have to run with choke partially closed otherwise it dies. Any suggestions? Also, what is initial setting for air pilot screw. There is a screw on bottom of carb bowl that parts list calls "adjuster". What is its purpose?

I would set air mix screw at what the service manual calls for. If no manual, then I would start at 1 to 1.5 turns open from lightly seated, then read the plug(s) after a few hours running. A light chocolate, or tan color is good for 2 strokes.
The adjuster on the bottom of the carb, as far as I know, is only to drain the bowl? If you open it slightly does fuel leak out? If no fuel leaks out, then when running, what happens if you adjust it?

All of my carbs have similar screw at bottom, but only there for me to drain carbs.

    Good luck.
