    Dt55 trim problem
My problem is that the motor slowly loses pressure when trimmed up and goes down. I took the manual release valve off and there were two parts behind it. A solid metal circle and a washer with a gasket on it. I reinstalled the valve and the trim did not work, I reinstalled in a different order and it worked but still losing preassure. Does anyone know the order in witch to put the solid metal circle and the washer with gasket? Is it just those two pieces or am I missing one? Would a worn metal washer with gasket part make my unit lose pressure? I can't see any leaks anywhere. Thanks.

If losing pressure and dropping, it is possible the piston seals, or check-valves in the lift cylinder may be the problem. Suzuki does sell replacement pistons, if that is your problem. It is helpful to know the year of the motor.

    Good luck.

The motor is an 89. Looking at the parts diagram I can't see a check valve. I can only see o rings, which I have taken the rods out and checked. Looking at the manual release valve on the diagram, it looks like there is more parts to it than I have.

You have the older style trim system with 2 cylinders, the newer models have the single cylinder. Am not familiar with that version.
The parts page only shows the release screw with a spring (looks like), and may have an oring near the end? (According to boats.net parts page on this site).

Browns Point may be a little clearer pic, #5.

Your release valve might have multiple orings? If they are worn, that may be causing your problem?

Good luck. Let us know what you find out.
