  • Do you store engine in water or out?

I’ve got a pair of new Suzuki 300’s on my boat parked down at the marina. The last time I owned an outboard was on a rowboat 50 years ago. I live on a freshwater lake on the Tennessee River and have been wondering what people who live in freshwater do with their engines when they’re through for the day. Do you tilt them out of the water or leave them in? What say you? thanks

Always out of the water resting on the tilt lock as opposed to using the tilt motor to hold the engines up

Fresh Water here. I always store it in the water. which drains the block of all water, oil is where it is suppose to be, etc. Every boat at our marina stores them in the water

But beware! Turtles chew Skegs and tips of your Prop. I have found nicks in mine and I know I never hit anything.
