  • Torque Tab bolt broken

Went scalloping over the weekend and hit a rock. Prop got dinged up and saw that my torque tab broke completely off with the bolt head. How would you suggest I get the threaded portion of bolt out? Not much room around that area since the prop shaft is there. 2007 DF175

Try a sharp little chisel and try to turn it by tapping the chisel. It shouldnt be tight with nothing on it. If that dont work drill and easy out.

Try with a chisel to create a groove and then use a impact driver to free it.
I just saw this ad in Facebook but i have no idea if it works as advertised:

If you have a hydraulic steering you may use the motor without the directional tab and have the broken bolt fixed during winter.

Probably better to use a dremal with small cutting disc, to cut a good groove in remaining piece of bolt, then use the impact driver to remove. Stainless bolts are difficult to center drill for an easy-out.

        Good luck.
