  • Rev limit warning

I have recently bought a 1996 DT65. The rev limit light is on and there is a single beep every 7 seconds. It does this with the ignition on and when the motor is running. The revs don’t seem to be limited as the motor runs fine. I’ve tried the oil reset button, the kill switch button and unplugging all the sensors I can find but I can’t get the light to go out or the beeping to stop. Any ideas?

You might need a Suzuki service manual to identify the code. Usually any code is two numbers with a pause in between, and repeats. Should be able to read a code without motor running, and key in first position.

It could possibly indicate a voltage problem? Not sure without a manual for that motor? Are there any other indicator lights? Do all of the gauges seam to work properly? Have you checked wiring for guages? May be poor ground connection?

Good luck, post back on what you find out.
