Salt build up on mounting bolts.

Hey Guys,

So I'm new to having a boat in a saltwater slip and I've come across some white build up on the outboard mounting bolts. I suspect that the larger bracket anode isn't doing it's job. Maybe because the bonding wire isn't tight enough? I know that it's connected.. Also the anode is an Suzuki aluminium anode. Any idea's? Do I need to take it out of the water?

I would take it out of the water, remove all the bolts / nuts with white shit & clean or replace as nec. also remove & clean all bonding wires & anodes. In salt I only use ZINJ anodes(**** what suzuki says) I get 2yrs out of my zinks the factory alu. zink aloy was gone in 7 months. Suzuki offers zink anodes just fie this. I get mine at boat zinks.com Good luck on your project.
