  • Why do early DF250's blow head gaskets more often than other years?

Does anyone know why the earlier DF250 2004-2007 seem blow head gaskets more often? Mine never overheated as far as I know. Was it a flaw in the head gasket design? I noticed the part number changed in 08. I am replacing my '07 with a low hour '05. I would like to prevent the issue from happening again, if possible. Any theories?

As far as my motor is concerened, it was flushed after every use. Upon disassembly no water passages were blocked and no corrosion issues. I wish it was that simple! When searching df250 head gasket issues online I have yet to see an '08+ motor experience one. I assume there was a design flaw in the early motors. I spoke to Browns and 2 other shops and told them I had an HG failure in cylinder 4 and they all said the same thing. "Let me guess, 04-07 df250". But no one seems to have an explaination?
