  • Drill bit size to unclog speedo pitot

We are buying a tritoon with a 2019 DF140A on it. The speedo does not work and I imagine the pitot on the lower unit is clogged. I am familiar with using a drill bit to unclog a Mercruiser drive we once owned with a 1/8" drill bit. What size bit should I use on the Suzuki?

start small & work up, quit when you see alu. shavings, or remove hose connector under cowling & blow?
Or leave itplugged & put a paddlewheel transdeucer & dro way more accurate / dependable than water presure.

Or..... if you're not particularly concerned about water speed (which I'm not), get one of these https://fariabeede.com/2-pages/prod_...uge=2_speedGPS

I have thought about one of the GPS speedos. And I will have a fish finder/GPS on the boat too that will show GPS but it was pretty easy to clean out the pitot on my Mercruiser stern drive with a drill bit so for now I thought I would try that.
