  • Running SeaFoam In Newer DF-175's

Does any know if its advisable to run a SeaFoam/fuel mix through newer engines?

I used to do it in the spring on my 150 OptiMax's very spring. I would mix a can of seafoam in a remote tank with about 6 gallons of fuel and run it until the tank was nearly empty, then refill the tank with the same mix and run the other engine.

Was thinking to clean/flush the injectors on my DF-175's after sitting up during the winter, but not sure if the newer engines would have an issue.

FYI-I have had to replace both high pressure fuel pumps two weeks ago after the boat sat all winter. Also have one IAC failure...Starboard engine is idling at 1400RPM...waiting on the part for that.

I don't see what it would hurt.

I like seafoam and run it in all my smaller engines, outboard, and even my tow vehicle at times.

Seafoom has some very good cleaning properties. I use it in all my engines both new and old.

I agree. I've used it engines of all sizes, both old and new.
