Just Bought a 2016 DF300AP

Hi Guys,

I just recently purchased a running take-off DF300AP with about 1300 hours on it. I am looking to install it in about a month.

What services should I do to the motor after I get her installed? I appreciate anyone's input.

Suzuki sells a maintenance kit for their outboard engines, has all the parts needed. Can you get a list of previous maintenance done? Have the valve clearances been checked? Water separator filter installed?

I don't know any of the previous maintenance history.

I will be installing a water separator when I install the motor...

Pat, it would also be a good idea to get the engine hooked up to the Suzuki diagnostics computer and get a printout of the ecu record, or doenload it to an XL file or similar. Ot will give you a decent record of the engine’s history and any fault codes that have happened.

I second Murray on getting the maintenance kit and use all the parts it includes to service the engine.
