Best fuel monitor????

Just purchased a 2006 225DF. I’m trying to figure out how to track fuel consumption. Finding the correct cables with correct software installed for nmea2000 is seeming like an impossible task. With the fuel pumps on these motors and problems they have with inline fuel flow meters what’s my best option? Was thinking Floscan. There’s also no way I can get a meter in the fuel line other than right at the engine. From what I read that’s not the best location.

I read that one....Doesn't that all have to do with the correct interface cable that I can't get my hands?? Oh, by the way, if anyone has one that they want to get rid of.
