DT55 - Could someone confirm where to connect the battery terminals on the motor?

Just got a 92 DT55, it didnt come with a harness to the battery so I made something up and attached it to the posts in the photo. Dead key. Now its pouring rain so I figured I'd ask.

+ on the solenoid and - to any good block ground. That starter is not mounted in rubber is it? that strap looks odd?

Were you able to see the attached photo? I put the + on the pole I circled red. I moved the rubber and touched it to the pole to the right of the one circled and the start spun up.
