Took mine into the shop for surging issues. I'm pretty sure it has low hours and hasn't been used in salt water much or if at all. It's really clean. How much would you be willing to put into this motor to keep using it?

I guess what I'm asking is money put into this motor isn't a bad thing because it's still going to be a lot less than buying new. I mean, if between what I paid for it and the cost of repair from the shop, (if they're a reputable shop) I'm going to have a great motor to most likely out live me.

Personally the first nickel I’d invest into the motor would be a compression test. If compression is good then post #2 is valid.
