  • DF9.9A 2013 Misfiring

Last fall, I took my boat for winter here on Northeast Ohio. My motor was running perfectly fine with no issues at all.

I put it in this spring and it was horrific to start and once started it attempts to stall at any speed and the ball won’t stay hard. Never had this issue before.

I pulled both plugs and the bottom cylinder plug looked wetter than the top. I also couldn’t really see a spark on either plug on either wire when grounding to the block.

I tried my dads fuel tank and that didn’t fix it.

I’m thinking it’s a bad fuel pump, plug, wires, or coil.

    Any thoughts?

Did you drain the carburetor before winter storage? Have you tried running Seafoam or a similar product that will help with water/moisture in the fuel?

” also couldn’t really see a spark on either plug on either wire when grounding to the block.“ Recheck your spark out of the bright sunlight, your statement sounds like your not sure if you have spark or not. Maybe one of your plugs is NFG? For the price of new spark plugs I’d replace both.
