I got a good deal on a NOS 4" SMIS multi-function gauge & a LMF-400 gauge. I'm running a 06 DF225. I have the proper engine interface connected to my NMEA 2000 system. I'm using a Garmin 73 for my display. Back to my question(s) - is there overlap in display info between the 2 gauges and does my DF225 fully support these gauges? I also have a fuel flow paddlewheel connected to the backbone. Any & all comments welcomed.

SMIS 4” is just a LMF400 that has slightly amended software to enable it to display Suzuki diagnostic fault codes. Otherwise it’s the same as LMF400. In fact, you can “flash” a LMF400 with the Suzuki software and turn it into a SMIS.
You can connect them both to the network and they will both display the data from the engine without any issues. Assuming that the gauges you got have the black NMEA2000 plugs and not the old blue/grey ones.
Not really sure if that answers your first question.
The second question - about compatibility.
These “gauges” are just network displays. They will display data from any engine that sends information to the NMEA2000 network.
It is the engine interface that primarIly has to be compatible with the engine. The interface runs different version software and that software has to match the engine it is connected to or it either wont work at all, or it wont produce reliable, complete or accurate info for the gauges to display.
Engines earlier than 2008 need to run the early model interface cables running the right software for those engines.
And the currently available ones that you can buy new from Suzuki dealers aren’t compatible.
So I just looked at your earlier posts and I see you have or at least HAD the old version interface cable and run 2.30 software, so that should be good to go. The SMIS/LMF should both work fine with that setup.
If you are really keen you can upload the SMIS software to the LMF via a Simrad or Lowrance display to turn it into a SMIS.
